The Story Of Moon Linen

There are certain things we don’t always say out loud. The comfort of a well made bed.
Soft cotton against the skin after a long day. Colours that don’t overwhelm, but quietly settle you into the night.

Moon Linen began with that feeling.

I was working in Bangalore, settling into a new apartment. The days were long, often exhausting, and what I found myself looking forward to most was coming back to a bed that felt just right. There was a small balcony, facing nothing but other buildings.
But the Bangalore air was kind. Even with the curtains drawn, a cool breeze would find its way in. And in those quiet moments, I realised how much I craved a space that felt calmer, softer, something that matched the way I wanted my evenings to feel.

When I went looking for bedsheets, the choices were endless. Yet somehow, never quite right. Too many prints. Too many distractions. Or pieces that felt out of reach. All I wanted was simple. Breathable cotton in soft pastel tones.

And I couldn’t find it.

That’s when it stayed with me. How something so personal, something so universal, was missing in such a simple way. How so many women, like me, long for a bed that feels thoughtfully made, and yet settle for what’s available.

So I decided to begin.

I came back to my hometown. What started as a simple idea quickly became something more layered. Hand dyed bedsheets sounded straightforward, until it wasn’t. There were women around me who knew the craft, but not in the way I envisioned it. So I had to learn it myself. Through trial, error, and more failed batches than I can count, we slowly began to understand the process.

Over time, we found a rhythm. A method that worked. Not rushed, not mass produced, but intentional. Moon Linen is built largely by women. And the beauty of it lies in that. In the hands that make it, and the feeling it carries forward.

These are pieces created for those who seek softness. For those who find comfort in quiet colours. For those who believe that the way you end your day matters.

Moon Linen is not just about bedsheets. It is about coming home to something that feels gentle.

A softer way to end the day.
